Morning Talk Across Marion  County.
Ocala, Are You Ready?

George Albright Ag Scholar

Is it time for the MCBCC Corporate "helping hand" to extend to more than the Ocala Chamber?  Other EDC Promotional Companies ask for County Business Welfare.  The tax-funded helping hand program should extend to more businesses than just the Chamber is a prime criticism.

Marion County Board of County Commissioners launches the Ocala Chamber with a 4 year $20,000 per month payment.  Now started with a million dollar bonus the Ocala Chamber members look toward the proposition of self-funding.

Welfare must end at some point and it looks like 2016 is the end of handout from taxpayers for the financially troubled Ocala Chamber.
New ideas are emerging to fund 10 financially failing firms with $2000 per month of welfare payments designed to help those who help themselves.  Agency status is to be spread out over all sectors of Ocala to give an economic boost to many competing businesses.

Normal Welfare recipients are asked to hold on a little longer while $200,000 CEO Keven of the Ocala Chamber receives financial help.  Many locals wonder aloud why we help fund the Ocala Chamber year after year.  MCBCC is looking into a long time helping hand from taxpayers.  Is it necessary?
