Dr. Heidi Maier announces her candidacy for Superintendent of Marion County Schools.

Stressing reform from the bottom up Dr. Maier plans support for classroom teachers and a new focus on local leadership in education.   To improve the slide in student learning Dr. Maier stresses better communication that will expose the flaws currently dragging down the education effort of Marion County team.  The lack of honest communication of problems is helping to support the major decline documented by independent sources.   In the last three years, Marion County Schools  have fallen from 47th to 59th and this will not be reversed until we open communications within the district.  "I can no longer stand by and watch this decline and lack of support for our teachers and students", stated Dr. Maier.
